Youth Summer Camps continued —
DIGI- Robotic Builders: Robopets Jr. Age: 6-8 yrs. Students working in pairs will learn the basics of building and programming using LEGO WeDo robots! Campers will learn the foundations of engineering and robots while building fun creations. Our young campers will bring their robotic pets and animals to life while discovering how gears and pulleys create movement. Curriculum and instructional staff are provided by Tech Academy. Digital lesson is 3 hours/ day from 1:00-4:00pm daily. Curbside drop-off for early care opens at 7:30am. Campers must be picked up by 6:00pm. Campers will engage in dynamic and exciting programming when not in the digital lesson such as active & passive games, arts & crafts, special events, science activities, and much more. Participants should bring a refillable water bottle daily, lunch, and 2 snacks each day. Ravenscroft School Jul 24-Jul 28 M-F 7:30am-6:00pm Fee: $275 DIGI- Star Wars Jedi Movie Making & STEAM Jr. Age: 6-8 yrs. From a galaxy far, far away, Star Wars comes to life! Work on a stop-motion animated Star Wars short. Students will create and design out-of this-world scenes, vehicles, starships, and props. Then, our instructors will take students through the entire digital filmmaking process from start to finish. Students will create a Star Wars animation and participate in other Star Wars-themed STEAM activities. Bring a USB drive on the last day. Students will be working in pairs. Our Makerspace Camp provides a chance for students to learn more about science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics (STEAM) in a fun and creative environment. Learn more about how things work. Then, brainstorm ideas and bring them to life. Become part of the maker movement with topics ranging from circuits and engineering to coding
and art. Makerspace will help kids develop a growth mindset by building fun projects such as arcade-style games, robotic hand models, and parachutes. Curriculum and instructional staff are provided by Tech Academy. Digital lesson is 3 hours/day from 9:00am-12:00pm daily. Curbside drop-off for early care opens at 7:30am. Campers must be picked up by 6:00pm. Learn how to create YouTube content! Shoot videos, edit sound, and create an online presence with YouTube. In the first half of camp, learn the tricks pro filmmakers use for better shots, lighting, and sound. You will also learn to use our film editing software in a class project. Then, in the second half of camp, students will work on a group unboxing or product review video. Edit your video, add transitions and special effects, and insert a soundtrack. Finally, share your finished video with the world. Bring a USB drive (at least 8 GB) to save your video on the last day. Curriculum and instructional staff are provided by Tech Academy. Does your child love to experiment in the kitchen, mix ingredients, and form it into delicious delicacies? Our culinary creators will have the opportunity to mix, blend, and stir up snacks and participate in our own Top Chef competition. This camp will be a real culinary adventure as we spark interest in their creative side while also taking part in games, activities, arts & crafts, and of course introduce our palates to savory, sweet and tasty concoctions! Chefs should bring a snack and a water bottle each day to camp. Though we will be preparing snacks, some children may not like what we make, while some treats will be sent home.
