Krafty Art Explorers Age: 6-10 yrs. Come along with us as we go crazy with creativity! All week long we will do a variety of art projects and crafts that use different styles, techniques, and mediums while allowing campers the chance to express themselves artistically. All levels of artists encouraged! Please bring one snack and a water bottle every day. Kiwanis Community Center Jun 26-Jun 30 M-F 1:00-4:00pm Fee: $131 LEGO® Remote Control ULVs (Unmanned LEGO® Vehicles) Age: 6-11 yrs. LEGO® comes to life when you turn your creations into radio controlled masterpieces - making it move is the name of the game! You will get to engineer everything from machines to animals with LEGO® Bricks and Technic® elements, then incorporate infrared sensors to convert your creation to remote control operation. In addition to learning the basic principles of the many ingenious devices that are part of our everyday lives, you will also learn how to magnify or diminish force to move objects at different speeds and in different directions. Set your remote to “fun!” Games and crafts will also be part of the camper’s daily experience and at the end of the week, you will also get to take home a custom mini figure! Mad Lab Age: 6-8 yrs. Come into our scientist lab for the week! During this camp, we will be doing lots of funky experiments. There will also be water, nature, and invention stations set up for the campers to create masterpieces. Participants will be making crafts and science camp snacks during the week. Trigger your builder’s lively imagination and creativity while encouraging problem solving, teamwork, and learning through play with our very own Master Builders. In this workshop, young constructors will master the craft of basic brick building, while challenging themselves with more complex projects and trials. These future architects will engage in hands-on play, arts & crafts, science experiments, group challenges, and food experiences, all themed to design and building. Greystone Recreation Center Age 8-11 Jul 10-Jul 14 M-F 1:00-4:00pm Fee: $126 Age 6-8 Jul 31-Aug 4 M-F 1:00-4:00pm Fee: $126 Participants will learn the process and life cycle of what farm to table means and receive hands on experience of each step in the process. Beginning with how vegetables and other foods are grown on a farm, to how a chef picks their ingredients. On the final day of camp participants will be preparing a 3 course meal with one of North Carolina’s first ever and most popular Entertainment Junior Chef - Farm to Table Age: 10-12 yrs. Now we’re cooking! Just BEAD It Age: 8-11 yrs. Campers will design and create their own unique designs of bracelets, necklaces, earrings, and various other accessories using techniques such as braiding, beading, and embellishment. These young designers will show off their skills in a showcase at the end of the week and go home with a collection of personalized jewelry to model all over town. Look out, your designer may find themselves with a new hobby or side business. Bring your creativity, it's time to BEAD it! Our young artists should bring a water bottle and snack each day! Join your friends and get ready to make new ones this summer as we start the summer off with a bang! Campers will enjoy an iconic summer camp experience as we do a different theme each day, from tie dye to crafting to water day. Please bring one snack and a water bottle every day.
