Minecraft Engineering using LEGO Materials Age: 5-7 yrs. Venture into the world of Minecraft in our unique LEGO® experience. Get ready to build your base, craft your tools, use your Minecart to harvest raw resources, and battle to stop the Ender Dragon from ending the world. Come explore the endless possibilities of LEGO® with a trained Play-Well instructor. Participants should bring a snack and bottled water. Staff and Curriculum is provided by Play-Well TEKnologies. Let nature inspire you as we combine learning about our environment with art! Each day we'll learn about our natural world during hikes and hands-on activities to learn about the plants and animals in Wilkerson Nature Preserve, and then celebrate what we've learned through art. We'll make crafts, do some journaling, explore natural sounds, and participate in other art-inspired activities. Participants should bring a lunch and two snacks each day and arrive wearing closed-toed shoes. Program hours are 9:00am-4:30pm. A.L. Wilkerson Nature Preserve Jul 31-Aug 4 M-F 8:30am-5:00pm Fee: $201 Nature Discovery Camp Age: 6-11 yrs. Explore Lake Johnson Park with activities focused on exploring the outdoors! Hike through the woods, visit the lake, and explore with new friends. Become a citizen scientist as we observe and collect data about the natural world around us, and learn about the animals that call this space home. Activities will be a mix of indoors and outdoors. Participants should bring a lunch and two snacks each day and arrive wearing closed-toed shoes. Program hours are 9:00am-4:30pm. Early drop off is available from 8:30am and all campers must be picked up by 5:00pm. Lake Johnson Magnolia Cottage Jul 24-Jul 28 M-Sa 8:30am-5:00pm Fee: $201 Nature Explorers Age: 6-11 yrs. In this outdoor-packed week, campers will learn more about the world around us, from trees and flowers to bugs and animals. All week we will mix it up to enjoy the great outdoors, explore the sights and sounds of our parks in summer, and use our creativity for crafting! We may even get a surprise visit from a few different critters for a close-up view. Please bring a snack and a water bottle every day. With the Pokemon® Championship approaching, join our enthusiastic Play Well Instructors as we build and catch our favorite Pokemon®, rescue Pikachu from Team Rocket, take a ride on the S.S. Anne to uncover rare and mystic Pokemon®, and battle to see who will hold the title of Pokemon® Master. Come along on our journey to catch ‘em all!! Participants should bring a snack and bottled water. Staff and Curriculum is provided by Play Well TEKnologies. This is perfect for beginners to intermediate cheer leaders. Participants will learn the basics of cheer, ideal for first timers and routine techniques from experienced instructors perfect for those that have cheered before to help mold and build on their abilities. Instructional time is from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Early drop-off starts at 8:00am., and participants must be picked up by 12:30 p.m. Campers should bring a water bottle and lunch to camp daily. Barwell Road Community Center Jul 31- Aug 4 M-F 8:00am-12:30pm Fee: $125 Science Explorers Age: 6-8 yrs. Campers will have hands on experience exploring safe, cool, and sometimes messy science experiments and the age-appropriate chemistry concepts behind them. Sure, most people have seen a baking soda volcano, but how does it actually work? Why does Diet Coke explode when you add Mentos? Your scientists will enjoy this and more as we work our way through wacky projects that are sure to be exciting. Please bring one snack and a water bottle every day. Next Level Basketball Camp Age: 7-13 yrs. Develop the basketball skills that will take you to the Next Level! The camp will cover the essential basketball skills dribbling, shooting, passing and defense. The camp will also include fitness and cardiovascular training. Instructional time is from 9 a.m. to 4:00pm. Early drop-off starts at 8 a.m., and participants must be picked up by 5:30pm. Campers should bring two snacks, water bottle and a lunch daily. Barwell Road Community Center Jul 10-Jul 14 M-F 8:00am-5:30pm Fee: $140 O-Line & D-Line Football Camp Age: 10-12 yrs. Are you ready for some FOOTBALL? If not, here is you opportunity to get ready and be better than last season. We all know that without the O-Linemen and D-Linemen, there would be no football! Sign-up today because Champions are made in the off season and Greatness waits for no one. Come learn the necessary skills and fundamentals to become dominate at the O-Line and D-Line position. Join us for a journey into outer space as we use our imaginations and skills to complete an astronaut training mission. This week long space academy will have campers engaged in activities to enhance critical thinking, discovery, and fun. These future stargazers will participate in experiments, food experiences, games, arts & crafts and more. This camp is sure to be out of this world! Aspiring astronauts should pack a snack and water bottle each day. Greystone Recreation Center Jun 12-Jun 16 M-F 9:00am-12:00pm Fee: $126 Passport to Fun Age: 6-8 yrs. In Passport to Fun, campers will transform into tourists as we discover the wonders of the World. We will embark on a journey around the world, expanding our knowledge on cultures, plants, languages, foods, animals, and landmarks from various countries. Children will discover where countries are located through basic geography and opportunities to explore maps. There will also be special experiences throughout the week to support understanding of various countries we have studied. Get your passport to fun ready (don’t worry, we will provide that) and come along on a journey of a lifetime. Our young explorers should plan to bring a water bottle and snack each day!
