General Policies for backflow Schools Backflow Certification

• Initial Certificates have a 2 year expiration date • Recertification Certificates have a 3 year expiration date • If a certification has been expired for more than 1 year, the tester must attend a full week-long course. Expiration dates for the initial certificates will apply • Students must attend all classroom instructional times and pass the written and practical exam with 70% • Students can retake the written or practical exam within 1 week of the course attended.

Cross Connection Administrative Technician will:

• Process all received registration forms according to Cross Connection Training Notes within 2 business days of receiving a completed registration form

Office Responsibilities:

• Enter all student information into appropriate database • Send confirmation emails to the student within 2 business days of receiving a completed registration. • Incomplete registrations require our office to provide one courtesy phone call as well as an email describing what is needed to complete the registration • Non-completed registration forms should not be considered in the school totals • Once school has reached 15 paid students, email the Cross-Connection Utilities Coordinator that the course is closed. The Utilities Coordinator will update the Cross-Connection webpage to reflect this change • Contractors who desire to test backflows in the COR and have not attended a COR Orientation session must do so before submitting reports to The Compliance Engine. • Orientation cards will show the prefix-RALCT followed by a 4-digit number • There is no expiration date in the orientation card. Expiration dates are associated with the testers current certificate • Testers who attend the Orientation session must use RALCT numbers to register online with The Compliance Engine. • Testers who do not use their COR certificate number will have their reports rejected in TCE. • All contractor information is to be entered into the appropriate databases • Non-completed registration forms should not be considered in the Orientation totals
