HYDRANT PROGRAM MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Must be able to work in inclement weather, work on-call, rotating shifts and be willing to cross train with other programs. Must have knowledge of water main, water service, hydrant and valve maintenance, and repair or replacements. Position Specific Responsibilities Might Include: Positions assigned to Equipment Operator may be responsible for: Operating and driving heavy equipment such as a dump truck, tractor- trailer, tractor, flatbed truck or water truck; Hauling materials, supplies, equipment, and soil; Inspecting assigned equipment for mechanical readiness; Performing minor preventative maintenance on equipment. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED and two years of maintenance experience related to assignment. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successful- ly perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless other- wise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation. Licensing/Certifications Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record and ability to obtain Class A CDL with-in 45 days of hire. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Knowledge of: Standard practices, methods and materials of assigned work. Basic mathematical concepts. Basic filing and record-keeping principles. Occupational hazards and applicable safety principles and practices. Uses and properties of supplies and equipment. Applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, regulations (based on assign- ment). Customer service principles. Specialized equipment relevant to area of assignment. Modern office technology.

SALARY RANGE: $16.90 - $25.27 Hourly $35,154.00 - $52,554.00 Annually
