REPAIR PROGRAM MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, SENIOR

SUMMARY: This class is the third level in a nine-level Maintenance and Operations Series devoted to providing replacement of assets, repair, maintenance and equipment operation for the City’s water distribution departments. Incumbents provide skilled general maintenance based on assignment to the City’s water distribution department or maintenance function. Work may include providing maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and parts; operating assigned heavy equip- ment; maintaining records; maintaining cleanliness of work area, tools and equipment; and following safety policies and procedures. As assigned, incum- bents may serve as lead workers, assigning work and monitoring work comple- tion. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary Duties:  Install’s, replaces, and repairs assets such as water services, mains, fire hy- drants, split services, sample station’s, and auto flushers.  Drives dump trucks to haul equipment to job sites or to haul stone and spoil to jobs or to removal sites.  Maintains truck logs and inspection logs for CDL vehicles as well as loading and unloading equipment from trailers.  Required to work after hours on an on-call rotating repair call crew. Essential Duties:  Performs skilled general maintenance supporting a City department(s) or maintenance function; selects proper maintenance tools and equipment for assignment; performs work following established safety policies and proce- dures and applicable codes and regulations.  May serve as lead worker by assigning work and monitoring work comple- tion.  Maintains assigned equipment and tools; performs inspections to ensure safe operating conditions; establishes priorities; performs repairs and/or replace- ment of parts; cleans and performs preventative maintenance; and monitors need for replacement or advanced repairs.  Operates and/or transports equipment; may operate assigned heavy equip- ment for various functions which may include grading/excavating, collec- tion and removal of debris, refuse and/or snow; and/or material application and distribution; plans routes and sets up work areas for safety and opera- tional efficiency; may set up traffic control measures.  Maintains activity logs, records, work orders and related reports.  Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.

SALARY RANGE: $17.09 - $27.63 Hourly $35,546.00- $57,470.00 Annually
