REPAIR PROGRAM MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

SUMMARY: This class is the second level in a nine-level Maintenance and Operations Series devoted to providing repair, maintenance and equipment operation for the City’s distribution system. Incumbents perform skilled activities in support of maintaining, replacing, and repairing water assets such as services, mains, and fire hydrants, etc. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primary Duties:  Install’s, replaces, and repairs assets such as water services, mains, fire hy- drants, split services, sample station’s, and auto flushers.  Drives dump trucks to haul equipment to job sites or to haul stone and spoil to jobs or to removal sites.  Maintains truck logs and inspection logs for CDL vehicles as well as loading and unloading equipment from trailers.  Required to work after hours on an on-call rotating repair call crew. Essential Duties:  Performs semi-skilled or skilled general maintenance supporting City de- partment(s) or maintenance function; selects proper maintenance tools and equipment for tasks; performs work following established safety policies and procedures and applicable codes and regulations.  Operates and maintains assigned equipment and tools; performs inspections to ensure safe operating conditions; performs routine repairs and/or replace- ment of parts; cleans and performs preventative maintenance; and monitors need for replacement or advanced repairs.  Prioritizes and responds to customer requests and addresses issues or maintenance needs; reviews operational issues and/or parts requirements; performs troubleshooting of equipment issues.  Maintains activity logs, records, work orders and related reports.  Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Position Specific Responsibilities Might Include: Positions assigned to Equipment Operator may be responsible for:  Operating and driving heavy equipment such as a dump truck, tractor- trailer, tractor, flatbed truck or water truck;  Hauling materials, supplies, equipment, and soil;

SALARY RANGE: $16.41 - $25.27 Hourly $34,131.00 - $52,554.00 Annually

 Inspecting assigned equipment for mechanical readiness;  Performing minor preventative maintenance on equipment.
