HYDRANT PROGRAM MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, SENIOR

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Class Code: 011370

 Analyzing utility preventative maintenance software, reporting findings to GIS & City Works systems, and making corrections to software while in the field.  Operation of hydrant maintenance equipment including crane trucks, hy- draulic-air tools, and handheld equipment.  Other duties include hydrant painting, fabrication, pressure washing, and hydrant repairs.  Meets with contractors, inspectors, customers and other agencies to ensure that utility standards and specifications are met.  May serve a liaison for contractual projects and reports details to manage- ment for corrections, etc.  Must be able to work in inclement weather, work on-call, rotating shifts and be willing to cross train with other programs.  Must have knowledge of water main, water service, hydrant and valve maintenance, repair or replacements, and the ability to lead crews in field supervisor ‘s absence. QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED and three years of assignment-related equipment operation/driving or specialized maintenance experience. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successful- ly perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless other- wise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation

SALARY RANGE: $17.41 - $27.63 Hourly $36,209.00 - $57,470.00 Annually

Licensing/Certifications Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record and ability to obtain Class A CDL with-in 45 days of hire.
