DEVELOPMENT AND PLAN REVIEW UTILITIES SPECIALIST
SUMMARY: This class is the fourth level in a ten-level Utilities Series devoted to providing operational, technical and maintenance support for the City’s water, wastewater, collection and distribution systems. Incumbents perform advanced specialized activities and/or lead technical and specialized skilled work. As assigned, in- cumbents may serve as lead workers, assigning work and monitoring work com- pletion. Essential Duties: Performs advanced specialized activities in assignment area and/or leads technical and specialized skilled work activities; prioritizes and coordinates scheduling and service work. May serve as a lead worker by assigning work and monitoring work comple- tion. Performs or coordinates the delivery of specialized service work; may con- duct inspections and sampling; reviews completed work and/or inspection/ sampling results; follows up on issues related to compliance or maintenance and repairs. Responds to inquiries, concerns and information requests from customers; researches issues and account information; recommends field-related work activities; refers complex issues to appropriate resource. Prepares and maintains activity logs, reports, data, files, spreadsheets and assignment-related documentation. Reviews, monitors, inspects and maintains equipment related to assignment area; ensures safety and operability of equipment. Assists with special projects as assigned. Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned. Creates work orders and enters system data into Asset Management System. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
