DIGI- Robotic Builders: Battlebots Jr. Age: 6-8 yrs. Let the battles begin! Designed by the experts at MIT, LEGO® WeDo Robotics’ unique system teaches students about simple machines, engineering, programming, and so much more. Students may construct a catapult, ninja star, tank, battle axe, crossbow, and more in this camp! Students will be working in pairs. Curriculum and instructional staff are provided by Tech Academy. Digital lesson is 3 hours/day from 9:00am-12:00pm daily. Curbside drop-off for early care opens at 7:30am. Campers must be picked up by 6:00pm. Campers will engage in dynamic and exciting programming when not in the digital lesson such as active & passive games, arts & crafts, special events, science activities, and much more. Participants should bring a refillable water bottle daily, lunch, and 2 snacks each day Ravenscroft School Jul 17-Jul 21 M-F 7:30am-6:00pm Fee: $275 DIGI- Robotic Builders: Mission Space Jr. Age: 6-8 yrs. Blast off and explore space and robotics! Students working in pairs will learn technical skills and build and program space-themed robots. Designed by the experts at M.I.T., this unique system teaches children about simple machines, engineering, programming, and so much more. Students teams will program and modify robotic models using an intuitive drag-and-drop interface. This course builds knowledge of simple machines, engineering, programming, and teamwork in an environment full of out-of-this-world fun! DIGI- Multiplayer Minecraft: City Builder Jr. Age: 6-8 yrs. Minecraft has been a sandbox-building game dominating the world of video gaming for the past several years. Collaborate with fellow students to construct a city! Students will take home their completed world files at the end of class. Beginners and experienced Minecrafters alike will love this action packed camp! We will be using the PC/ Java edition of Minecraft. Bring a USB drive to save your games on the last day. Work as a team to create a custom Skyblock World in Minecraft. Use creativity and Redstone to create this floating world! Students will get a copy of the world map to take home and expand on. Basic computer skills are needed (this includes good keyboard and mouse skills). We will be using the PC/ Java edition of Minecraft. Bring a USB drive to save your games on the last day. Work on a stop-motion animated Pokémon-themed film. Pick your favorite characters to star in your mini-movie. The possibilities are endless! Students will build Pokémon-inspired sets and props to create an animated game and stop-motion short. Students will also participate in other Pokémon-related STEAM activities. Making it move is the name of this game! Students will love seeing their creations in motion using IR remote control Lego Mindstorm Components. Learn more about science, engineering, and technology while having FUN through hands-on projects. Students will explore robotic concepts in small teams by working through step-by-step projects and example programs. They will then have the opportunity to modify the builds and programs.
